thanks for this answer,
one thing missing though....

where is the auto update?
will this badge update itself when i upload new pics.

As far as i remember the links to the pics inside the code badge are hard coded.

I gave the flickr story just as an exmple, the general need is to show any RSS stream on a webpage.

Help anyone?

I'm assuming you're still talking about the Flickr badge here.

Yes, it will update itself as you load more pictures, as long as you choose the option to use the newest photos only (in step 3 of creating your badge).

It doesn't answer your questions about rss in general, of course, but I hope it helps anyway :-)

I'm at work so can't give a more comprehensive example at the moment but, you can use MSXML to do this.

If you can tell me what language your site's are using (ASP, PHP), I can either write an example for you (if ASP) or point you to one.

So basically this is just a regular XML handling.

I have to learn how the RSS is built (in which standard, i know there are some) and to attach the right xsl to it, right?

I have not done this in years....

Do you have a basic XSL for rss 2.0???
just somthing that transform it to an HTML table.
I think that i will be able to continue by my own after seeing it.

oh my god,
i am old.....

it seems that i don't remember even 50% from what is written over there....

anyhow, i am sure it does much more than just an HTML table with.

Can you please add few lines of code to help me remember how do i combine cause the XSL to do his job on the XML.

I do remember you can do it either client side or server side.

Another q' - the XSL example you gave, is it good for any RSS 2.0?
I mean, will the elements' names will be the same in any RSS 2.0?

PS
for the last reply i am throwing an MTA frisbee throw. It is a very strong throw to the sky in order to Maximize Time Aloft for the disc. World record is about 17 secs in the air (and cathing afterwards).

So the XSL example was too much for me (a big throw) but i remain with the frisbee in my hands (still have a problem)
