delete messages based on filter

I just switched from feedreader to greatnews and I like it very much. One thing that I miss is the option to remove messages based on filtering. In feedreader this is combined with the highlite feature that is simmilar to 'news watches' in greatnews. So maybe it is fairly simple to implement. With more feeds adding ads to their feeds this is very usefull. I also monitor feeds from freshmeat and every and all update of virus signature files is posted there. Again, being able to delete those automatically is very usefull.

I haven't tried feedreader, this filter based auto-delete function sounds quite useful.

How about adding a flag to News Watch, say a checkbox "Delete matching news items automatically"?

That would do it

That's actually quite close to the way feedreader does it. It's has a radio-button with two options: highlite (with color-selection) and delete.
