Changes broke my stylesheet

Postby justauser » Mon Nov 13, 2006 8:04 am

Something you changed broke the stylesheet I had created. When I click and the item expands, the text is sort of merged in with what is below on the page. Will play with things and see if I can find the cause.

It's the new doctype breaking user styles. I have to check out how to expand a div with standard css:

Code: Select all

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Strict//EN">

I updated your style a little bit to make the toggling work with the new build. Please give it a try:

Thanks. I'll look at the changes and see how you did it. I had played with things but couldn't find a way to get this to work,

Jack,

I've been playing around with my custom styles as well and got it mostly working. My main style is a copy of the default Newspaper style with some minor changes.

Located here: http://michael.kizer.ws/blog_upload/200 ... Styles.zip

In looking at the new version of Newspaper, I didn't see much different. I did add the following line to the img{} section:
max-width: 100%;
and that allowed my main style (mrk_News_2up.css) to function. Yea!

However, the other three styles still do not work. They simply import the main style, then override what they need to. For example, the mrk_News_2up_noImg.css simply changes the img{} section to the following:
img {
display: none;
}

Yet, this doesn't work. Is import still supported?
If I change the main style's img{} section to the one displayed above, it functions correctly.

Thanks,

Michael, @import must be the first line in a style sheet. So you have to play some tricks like:

Code: Select all

/*
mrk_News_2up_noImg.css - Style for GreatNews v1.0.0.370+ ( www.curiostudio.com )
Desc: Two-up newspaper style, blue/grey theme, no images.
Author: Michael Kizer ( http://Michael.Kizer.ws )
Permalink: http://michael.kizer.ws/2006/07/06/creating-custom-styles-for-greatnews/
*/

/* Import the base CSS settings */
</Style>
<Style>
@import url(file:///%MEDIA%/mrk_News_2up.css);

/* Override the following */

/* Images */
img {
   display: none;
}

Thanks Jack, that trick worked nicely.

I've updated my styles, which can be downloaded here:
