A XML Reader to see saved news with "Export News to RSS/XML"

Postby nsoares » Wed Mar 07, 2007 10:18 am

Greatnews is my RSS reader. I love it.
Now, I'm trying to establish some backup activities.
I figured I can export my labelled news - the ones I want to keep, to a XML file external to GreatNews.

I'm posting asking you about the way can I see these exported news kept in these files.
Can you suggest me a simple, fast and FREE XML reader that let my simply configure the layout of the news I kept, maybe in the same way I changed the Greatnews CSS stylesheets to personalize the way I see the posts. Any suggestions? What software do you use for that?

Thanks, and congratulations to Jack Pan for this great software :)

You just need some xlst to convert the exported xml to html. You can google "xslt rss", there are some ready to use.

This one is probably the eaiest to use:

Basically, just add the following 2 lines to the exported rss file:

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/rss/rss2html.xsl"?>

Return to “General”
