Ignore "old" news in search feeds?

Postby jackvinson » Thu Jun 29, 2006 11:15 pm

Is it possible to set up a news filter on my search feeds that will mark things as read if they are older than a specific age? For some reason, many of my search feeds (Google, Technorait, PubSub, ...) will bring back old items. I am not particularly interested in this: I only want to see stuff that is recent.

So, can GreatNews filters help me out?

Can you try if the filter on toolbar work in this case? By default it show all items but you can set to show yesterday, last 7 days, last 30 days etc.

Technically that works. But I don' t want to have to switch back and forth from "all" to "last 7 days." I just want them marked as read within this specific context, so I don't have to pay attention, if I chose.

I just thought about another option to handle this. It's probably worth adding another global option to retrieve news that are no more than 6 months. This option will not apply when adding a new feed and its first update.
