Since you mentioned IWebBrowser2, I guess you might have Visual Studio 2005? If so I can send you a debug version to try, which might generate more useful information when GreatNews crashed.

Not quite; I've got VS6, VS2002, VS2003, and I've got an install for 2008 floating around, but not 2005.. I can probably find an install for that one if it'd help.

The tricky part is that it doesn't crash, it just locks up using all the CPU, so while I could attach devstudio to the process, I'm not quite sure what I'd do from there; I guess I can find the callstack for the thread that's eating the CPU.

For what it's worth, after installing IE8, this lockup doesn't happen any more.
