Cleanup forgets read status

Postby jackvinson » Thu Mar 15, 2007 10:52 pm

I just ran the Cleanup Wizard, and on the next download many of the feeds had all the old articles as "new items." Very annoying.

Shouldn't the cleanup wizard remember the last download and only pick up new content, if it exists?

Thanks,

Jack

GreatNews actually remembers the timestamps. But a lot of feeds don't have (valid) timestamp, which is causing this problem. This is a considered a bug in GreatNews.

Would that be what causes certain feeds to repopulate old items as new? Some feeds of mine guilty of this are:

It has been considered a bug for quite some time. Any chance the bug will be squashed? It is a REAL p.i.t.a., every 30 days the app nags us to cleanup, and then when we do, for the next few days we get a ton of messages reappearing in various feeds.
