Is it possible to load new tab (from link) in background with just left click? (just left click and nothing else)

Probably not. I'd better stick with standard browser behavior.

maybe as an option? settings for tab focus is quite common in tabbed browser.

the reason is because i usually click server news links in the reading pane. so, if it focus on the newly open tab, i need to switch back to the reading pane and click another news item again.

If your mouse has a middle button or scroll wheel, you can use that to open in background tab.
