I often have a newspaper on the screen that I want to "send to" another app. It would be nice to be able to define a set of apps and then have Greatnews be able to write the page to a temp file and then send to the app. For example, I might define a destimation app like this:

c:\program files\somedir\anapp /x "$F"

where $F is gets replaced with the filename of the temp file that Greatnews uses to store the file.

you can use the BlogThis feature. Here's the info for setting up Zoundry with GreatNews but you can use the same procedure for other applications:

How about doing this with email? When I email items to people, I like to include the text, rather than forcing them to chase down the link themselves.

There's a EmailThis function in GreatNews. Currently it only sends the title and the link of an article, but not the full text.

My request is that the email this function be made to include the text of the item in question.

There are some technical problems I haven't sorted out. The mailto: internet protocal only allow 255 characters. I can use some workaround for Outlook to send full text. But that will break other email clients like Yahoo Mail or GMail.

That's fun... So, can you recommend a way to configure Blog This to build an Outlook email?

That's very interesting way to solve this problem. I did think about it before but it is possible to write a small external program that can interact with Outlook so that all text can be sent.
