Jack, with this build, has the performance problem related to column solrting been fixed?

Sorry maty. I just re-uploaded build 366 to include your translation.

Alex, sorting by date or channel is now optimized. I don't see why people want to ALWAYS sort by title, so I will probably not save sorting by title from next build.

Is it possible to add TEXT and AUTHOR to an e-mail ... instead of ONLY the LINK ?

Thanks.

I tried to do that before, but failed. GreatNews uses mailto:// protocol to launch mail clients. But it seems I can only put 255 characters there. I did see some other programs can send large text to email client though.

In effect I noticed that .... so I requested this new function

Sounds good. The only thing that could happen is that someone accidently clicks on the Title column without noticing it and subsequently causes GN to slow down considerably. One solution is to have the sorting reset to something else like sort by date on the next start of GN.

Just an FYI ... you can also use CDO (Collaborative Data Objects) (CDOSYS.DLL) to do this (tis what I use) - this is included as standard with versions of Windows from and above, 2000. This does not work the same as using for example, ShellExecute() or Shell() in that, CDO sends directly to the SMTP server, instead of via the mail client (would mean you'd need to additionally include a means for the user to add the recipient/personal message).

Thanks Steven. I will check how to use CDO to launch mail client.

One particular advantage of mailto:// is that it works with any mail client. Some GreatNews users use yahoo mail client.

You're welcome :)

CDO actually sends directly to the mail server - it doesn't need the mail client ;)
