I have re-uploaded build 361 to fix a small but annoying bug...

GreatNews in this version automatically marks first page of feed as read after leaving to another feed (I haven't changed any settings) :/

That used to be a bug... You can turn off Tools->Options->Mark read interactively to prevent this.

But if I turn it off and set "Automatically after 0 (never)" then marking single items in feed as read interactively doesn't work...

Perhaps it is just me but it feels as if GN has lost some of the performance gains from an earlier build. Especially for large feed channels, GN takes very long to update and does in the process a lot of harddisk work. My environment didn't change, and my disks are defragmented.

Jack, while you upgraded the database structure, could it be that you missed adding some important indices?

That flag marks read all items displayed on current page. I can see that might be a problem if you glimpse through several channels, then read items one by one. I guess you have news list always open? If so I should be able to check aginst that.

Alex, when did you start getting this performance issue? Just in build 361 or earlier builds too?

Yes, I read articles in a News List one by one so I think it would be reasonable to have an option to mark a single article as read interactively (or after X seconds maybe, but I use only instant marking). Can I expect such option in future builds?

I will upload a build today then. I'm working on GreatNews plugin for w.Bloggar right now, the main program is not affected.

yagood, I just uploaded another build 361, which will check News List before marking read. Please give it a try. Thanks.

It started to occur sometime after build 351 and before the current build. Sorry that I cannot be more explicit ;(

Yes, it works as earlier (marks single article as read), but this option is misleading I think - in options it says "Mark current page as read [interactively]", but it does something different so maybe you want to split it into two options?

BTW, another issue - is it possible to add an option to make News List opened by default when GreatNews starts?
