small glitch with the label/watch as home page feature

Hi, I've been using the new feature of have a label as my home page, and it's working great, but I've noticed a small bug that only seems to happen some time. Steps to produce this are below. - Having been notified by the popup that the are new unread articles, I bring up GreatNews. My label ("to re...

The new option to have a label as the home page works great. Thanks a lot for adding it.

Now I think all I need is a single click method of clearing a label from an article and my feed processing will be about as stream lined as I care to make it :D

Cheers

I think that the most flexible way to implement it would be to allow the selection of any watch, label, or channel to become the new home page. That way you could have what ever you wanted should you decide to customise the application. Not sure how diffucult that would be given the infrastructure o...

Hi,

Just wondering if any progress has been made on this option, as I'm really looking forward to it. :D

Using one of my labels for the 'Home Page'

I just had an idea that I think could potentially be very useful depending on how a user processes feeds. Personally, I like to run through all my unread articles, and label those I want to read with a "To Read" label. I can then work through the articles I'm interested in at my leisure, and they ca...

The tag cloud idea sounds interesting. If it was to be implemented, it might be worth having an option to allow a simple interface like we currently have, or a more complex one for the tag cloud concept to be used. Depends on how different the cloud interface ended up being, and whether it would be ...

I forgot to say it before, but what I had in mind would only open the ones that were showing in the users current view, so in my case, I use the "simple" view, and it would only open the 10 I have showing on a page for the channels. In the Label group, it could open everything, since that is slightl...

Launching ALL links in a view

I'm in the process of trying to improve and/or streamline my feed reading habits, which was part of the reason I started using GN, and I'm making progress. One of the new habits I'm creating is quick scanning of all my feeds, labelling the ones I want to read as "To Read". This way I can mark everyt...

Whilst they are generally an interchangable term, I personally prefer to think of the labels in GN AS labels, since that is how I use them currently. I don't label things as a permanent way of sorting them, more as a temporary marker. If I WAS using them in a more permanent way, then I would probabl...

hmmm. Well after trying to see some pattern to it, about all I can say at this point it that with build 364 on my machine, the time seems to vary a lot. Some times is does seem to go away at roughly the correct time, and others its takes a little longer, and still othe times take a lot longer. Maybe...

A little more info that might be useful. I timed the popup again just now, and after waiting for a minute, I moved the mouse over the popup, and was just about to click the "x" button to close the popup, when it closed on it's own, before I could click it. The timing involved would have been for abo...

ok, it just popped up again a few minutes ago, and I left it and timed it. It was reporting 2 new articles, and 2 failed channels. It stayed up for about 70 (timed with my watch) seconds before I closed it myself. I can't remember for sure, it might work sometimes, but the times that I can remember ...

I can't remember exactly, but it was definitely longer than 15 seconds. It may have disappeared after 60 seconds, but I can't remember. I'll keep an eye on it, and let you know if I get some more concrete info.
