Rory,

Yes, this was put into GreatNews several versions ago and works great. If you grab the latest version you'll see a link to track comments at the bottom of any post that has a comments feed.

Feature request: Startup with Windows in tray

It would be nice to have an option to startup GN with Windows and automatically show in the tray. I have GN in my Startup group, and I flagged it to start minimized, but it doesn't actually minimize to the tray (I see it minimized on the taskbar, I have to restore it and minimize again to get it to ...

Cleanup wizard?

I'm not exactly sure what the cleanup wizard does, I assume it deletes old posts or something from feeds? In the settings, you can configure how often you want it to run - but what if you never want to run it? Is that bad? There is no option for "Never" and the prompt I get reminding me every time I...

Comment support feedback

Some feedback on the new comments support (which is very cool BTW): 1) Instead of highlighting the datetime of the comment, it would be more useful to see datetime *and* name of person who posted the comment (ie: dc:creator). 2) Trackbacks don't display right. Currently a trackback in the comments w...

OK. I think I've figured something out. If I delete a feed and then re-add it again then I see the "Track Comments" link.

Maybe it only shows up on new posts and not older ones you received before installing build 353?

Re: 1.0 Build 353

If Option->Feature->"Track Comments" is enabled, news items which have wfw:comment will show "Track Comments" link under articles I installed this new version and enabled the "Track Comments" option under the features tab, but I still don't see the option/link in the article (I assume it will be so...

I haven't tried Sauce Reader or Rss Bandit. It would be a great thing for you to check out how some of the others implement comments. RSS Bandit ( http://www.rssbandit.org/ ) This is probably the best performance-wise for implementation of comments. I believe it didn't actually retrieve the comment...

I do plan to support comment feeds. I checked comment feed spec briefly. Since comment feeds are associated with each post, it seems it can put a performance toll on GreatNews if not implemented carefully. I haven't tried Sauce Reader or Rss Bandit. Do they show any performance slow down when lots ...

Thanks for the information. I'll estimate the efforts and see in which phase to add support for RSS Comments BTW, I personally liked how Sauce Reader showed comments. I liked seeing them all under the post, however, the way that RSS bandit & SauceReader do (with expandable comments under the po...
