Update (20061212) v1.02 for GreatNews v1.0.0.376+ http://www.geocities.com/ganius/gtsoftbox_v1.02.zip gtsoftbox v1.02 only supports GreatNews v1.0.0.376 or above. This is due to the change in applying stylesheet for transparency effect. To work around IE7 issue with ClearType and transparency, it n...

Thanks! I've just downloaded built 1.0.0.376 and it works fine. Regarding zooming, from what I read, it seems that IE7 changes the keybinding several time during its betas and currently there aren't text-size zooming in it (used to be bound to Ctrl-Shift-Wheel in a beta, but later this binding is to...

With IE7, ClearType and Text scaling doesn't work

I've just installed IE7 and noticed that they have some issue with ClearType. This affects the stylesheet I created for GreatNews: the text is not anti-aliased: http://img384.imageshack.us/img384/4816/cleartypeoffvq7.gif Magnified: http://img487.imageshack.us/img487/6629/cleartypeoffbighk7.gif After...

Ahem... I'm reviving quite an old thread. Just want to check if there's some movement in this request :D It apparently hasn't. I almost want to create my own aggregator but immediately realize that although seems trivial it really isn't - not even mentioning about how lousy I will be in handling sup...

The "Group by Date" in news list might be useful for some feeds (news sites mostly). Apart of that, I don't really see much difference between GN and this FeedDemon layout. For font size, you actually can define your own stylesheet, provided you know about CSS.

On further thought, I'd suggest you not to "fix" the block elements such as div, p, blockquote etc. I think it will mess up your original formatting rather than helping to eliminate the bleeding. If it really needs to be that "forgiving", you might want to take another look at pre-tidy-ing the conte...

While GreatNews can do something to fix it (tidy-ing is one), it still mostly depends on the browser/rendering engine (default is IE). Following example will show that, in both IE & Mozilla: <html> <body> This is the <em></em>first line. <br /> The second line should be normal. </body> </html> i...

In my opinion, it's the content (RSS) publisher's fault and to correct that is to report directly to them. The sad fact is, although RSS is supposed to be well-formed (XML after all), some blogwares are just happy to use CDATA everywhere. But I understand the issue that the most forgiving aggregator...

I use the extension and Firefox 1.5, too, but find it to be more likely GreatNews bug than the browser/extension. To reproduce the problem: 1. Start -> Run "feed://test.test.com/test.xml" 2. Untick "Retrieve Channel Properties From Internet" and click Next 3. Click Cancel 4. Repeat from step 1, the ...

Re: [About default setting of Channel Style]

BTW, what does "<use global style>" mean? The GN will choose the most frequently used style as default one, yes? Thank you for your attention and reply. Not the most frequently used, but rather it's the "most recently used", i.e. the last one you selected from the Style dropdown button in toolbar. ...

Hey, thanks for implementing these features :D Spotted 1 bug, though: For those individual Channel's display style settings, the %MEDIA% is not substituted, i.e. channels whose Display Style is not set as "<use global style>" Secondly, I noticed that you didn't apply the same substitution string bet...

Channel tagging

I'm not sure if this has been asked before: do you plan to implement channel tagging? I read the thread about nested channel groups and roughly understand your intention to 'break' the conventional hierarchical structure way in navigation. Imho, one of the neatest implementations would be channel ta...
