Thanks Jack, that trick worked nicely.

I've updated my styles, which can be downloaded here:

Jack, I've been playing around with my custom styles as well and got it mostly working. My main style is a copy of the default Newspaper style with some minor changes. Located here: http://michael.kizer.ws/blog_upload/2006/07/mrk_News_GN_Styles.zip In looking at the new version of Newspaper, I didn'...

Thanks... I think the group level style would be the most useful option.

Suggestion: Shortcut key for styles

Here's a suggestion that could make my reading style within GreatNews a bit easier... Lately, I've been using GN with the browser pane set to full size (F12), paging through posts with the spacebar and then jumping to the next group of feeds with F8. This works great and I can breeze through my 200+...

Yeah, I stumbled upon that while looking through the gtsoftbox styles (I think)... very handy.

All fixed... it would only affect people that don't have GN installed in C:\Program Files\GreatNews

Grab the latest version from the permalink above.

Just tried it... same problem. But I just realized the issue... and it is my customized styles. When I switch to the defaults the problems disappear. I must have messed something up in there... grr... In case anyone is using those styles, I'll post a fix to my blog today. Check here in a few hours: ...

Slight problem moving GN to new computer

I had to move GN from one WinXP laptop to another Win2K laptop, also in the process I had to switch the directory where GN is stored (on the old machine it was C:\Program Files... and on the new one it is D:\Program Files...). So, I usual installer for GN on the new machine and then copied my origin...

No problem Jack, and thanks for the link back. Are you still planning on incorporating some kind of XSLT support in the GN styles? I think I remember seeing a post about that some time ago. From what little I yet understand about XSLT, I think that would be a very cool feature and would allow for so...

New Blue/Grey Newspaper styles for GN

I wrote up a little blog article about creating your own styles for GreatNews which also includes a set of four new styles that I created for myself. They are all newspaper style, but in a blue/grey color theme (easier on my eyes at least). I've added some bits and pieces from several other styles t...

Sort order of News Feeds in Browser pane

I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned before, but I couldn't find it... If you have a folder containing several news feeds, they are sorted alphabetically in the News Feeds pane. If you click on the folder to view all of them in the Browser Pane, you will notice that they actually appear in the or...

I'll expand on how the "mark page as read" is beneficial (at least for me). I have a group of feeds called "News" that contains maybe 30 feeds. The way I generally read my feeds is by clicking on the group and reading all of the feeds (newspaper style) within the browser pane. This usually results i...

Re: i'm the first one to reply!

after several days' silence, a new version comes out at last, sooooo happy. I almost come here to check new version everyday. GN becomes part of my reading life. Thanks for your excellent work! Keep on going! Here's the way I stay on top of GN (and other) updates: Using a Windows app called WebMon ...
